How to Use
Play Chinese Chess (Xiangqi) against the computer — you take Red and move first. Full rules are enforced: horse's leg, elephant's eye, cannon screen, soldiers gaining sideways moves after crossing the river, generals confined to the palace, and the flying-general (facing) prohibition. Checkmate or stalemate wins. The AI scores captures, avoids hanging pieces and never leaves its general in check. Undo is unlimited for reviewing your games.
FAQ
What are the basic rules of Chinese Chess?
Each side has 16 pieces on a 9×10 board crossing the 'river'. Chariot moves in lines, horse in an L (blocked by a leg), elephant diagonally two points (can't cross the river), advisor diagonally in the palace, general confined to the palace, soldiers move forward then sideways after crossing, cannons capture by jumping one screen.
What is the flying general rule?
The two generals may not face each other on the same file with no pieces between them — moving into such a position is illegal, and the engine prevents it automatically.
Can I undo moves?
Yes — while it's your turn, Undo steps back your last move (and the AI's reply) and can be repeated to replay the whole game.
