How to Use
Word Groups is a Connections style word puzzle: sixteen words on the board hide four themed groups of exactly four words each. Submit four words you believe share a theme; an exact match removes the group and reveals its name, while a mistake costs one of your four allowed errors. The challenge is deliberate overlap: some words seem to fit several groups (an apple is a fruit and a brand), and only the partition where every group is exactly right is the intended solution. Submitting three out of four correct triggers a close-call hint that tells you how many groups you nearly matched. The game ships three independent native word banks, zh, en and ja, with twelve or more puzzles each. The Daily mode fixes one puzzle per local date shared by everyone, and Endless mode deals random boards for unlimited play.
FAQ
How do I play this Connections style game?
Sixteen words form four hidden groups of four. Select four words and submit; only an exact group clears. Four wrong submissions end the game.
What if a word seems to fit two groups?
That is the intended trick. Only the grouping where every group is exactly right counts, so if a word looks ambiguous, another group likely contains a better word to swap in.
What does the close-call hint mean?
Submitting three of four correct words shows a hint counting how many groups reached three out of four. It confirms your direction without naming the group.
Daily versus Endless, what is the difference?
Daily fixes one puzzle per local date so everyone plays the same board, great for sharing results. Endless deals random puzzles back to back with no limit. Both draw from the same word bank of twelve or more sets.
Is there an English word bank?
Yes. Each site language ships its own native bank: English, Chinese and Japanese, written from scratch rather than translated, so every player gets native-quality puzzles.
