🔲Dots and Boxes
Free online Dots and Boxes: draw lines between dots, claim boxes to score and chain extra turns, beat the AI to the final score
Tap the gap between two adjacent dots to draw a line; completing a box scores 1 point and grants another turn. Most boxes wins. Z undo, R restart.
How to Use
Dots and Boxes is a classic pencil-and-paper board game. On a 5×5 dot grid, players take turns drawing one line between adjacent dots. Completing the fourth side of a 1×1 box claims it (+1 point) and earns another turn. Once all 16 boxes are claimed, the higher score wins. The subtle heart of the game is the sacrifice: avoid drawing the third side of a box and forcing the opponent's hand. The built-in AI grabs free boxes and tries not to hand you any.
FAQ
What is the best strategy in Dots and Boxes?
The core is the 'sacrifice': avoid giving your opponent a free box (don't draw third sides), and in the endgame deliberately concede short chains to capture longer ones — the double-cross technique.
Can I play against a friend?
The current version is you vs the AI; hot-seat two-player mode is planned.
